Teaching Your Dog to Stay in Your Yard Using the Remote Trainer

  1. Place Utility flags similar to that used to mark buried lines or underground containment systems every 8 ft around the perimeter of your yard
  2. Place the remote training collar, a regular collar, and leash on your dog
  3. Using the leash attached to the regular collar, walk your dog to within 3 feet of the marker flags, press the stimulus button (See Tips for setting the correct level), jerk on the leash in the direction away from the marker flags. As soon as the dog turns, release the stimulus button and bring the dog to at least 10 feet away from the flags.
  4. Repeat using different areas of your yard
  5. Repeat every day at a minimum of 3 times per day or until your dog consistanty turns away from the flags without the stimulus.
  6. After the dogs is responding as in the previous step, remove every other flag, repeat every week until all flags are gone.
  7. That's it!
